Build a body that moves better for golf.

Gain speed. Move better. Stop getting hurt.

There’s more to playing better golf than working on your swing. Your ability to rotate, create speed, use the ground, stay balanced, and maintain your strength through 18 holes all depend on the physical capabilities behind your swing. That’s where RI Golf Fitness comes in. We assess it. We train it. We measure it.

The process

A clearer path to a stronger game

Assess. Understand. Train. Retest.

A Golf Fitness Program Built Around You It starts with understanding you—your goals, your golf game, your training experience, and anything we need to work around. Then we meet in person for your RI Golf Fitness Performance Evaluation. We look at how your body moves, how you create and transfer force, and establish your current golf-performance baseline, including clubhead speed. From there, your training is built around what you want to accomplish and what we find during your evaluation. That may include personal training sessions, structured weekly programming, or multi-week training blocks—all designed to give you the right level of coaching, structure, and support. Your workouts and programming are easy to follow, with a clear understanding of what you’re doing, how much to do, and why it matters to your golf game. Most importantly, we measure progress. We reassess the areas we’re working on, look at what has actually improved, and use those results to determine what comes next. This isn’t a generic workout program with golf exercises added to it. It’s individualized performance training built around your body, your goals, and your golf game.

RI Golf Fitness is a dedicated training environment where fitness and golf performance come together. With a full gym floor, high ceilings, and a simulator bay with room to swing a driver, we can assess and train the physical qualities that matter to your game—from mobility and strength to rotational power, balance, speed, and force transfer. The space is equipped for both traditional strength training and golf-specific athletic development, giving us the freedom to build each session around what you need rather than around the limitations of a typical gym. And with an on-site launch monitor, we can take that training one step further—measuring clubhead speed and connecting the work you’re doing in the gym to your performance with a golf club in your hands. Everything in the space has a purpose: helping you move better, get stronger, create more speed, and build the physical capacity for a better golf game.

A launch monitor on site, plus barbell and plates, squat rack or stand, adjustable bench, adjustable dumbbells, fixed dumbbell set, kettlebell(s) and more.

Who trains here

Who it's for

RI Golf Fitness is for golfers who want to play better and are willing to train for it—whether that means gaining speed and distance, moving better, getting stronger, or simply feeling more athletic and capable on the course. You don’t need to be in great shape to start, and you don’t need experience in the gym. Your training begins at your current level and progresses from there. Whether you’re an experienced player looking for another performance edge or a golfer who knows their body has become a limiting factor, the goal is the same: Build a stronger, more athletic body that supports the golf game you want to play.

The coach

Dan Schuetz

Owner and head coach

I’ve built my career around fitness, performance, and working with golfers, with a focus on helping players develop the physical abilities that support a better golf game. My coaching combines strength training, mobility, rotational power, speed development, balance, and athletic movement with an understanding of how those qualities relate to the golf swing. I also work alongside some of Rhode Island’s top golf coaches, helping bridge the gap between what a player is working on in their swing and what their body needs to physically support those changes. At RI Golf Fitness in West Greenwich, I’m able to combine hands-on training with golf-specific movement and performance testing, including an on-site simulator and launch monitor. This allows me to measure progress both in the gym and with a golf club in your hands. My role isn’t to replace your golf coach or change your swing. It’s to help build the stronger, more mobile, powerful, and athletic body your golf game can benefit from.
